Edurne Paula Chopeitia

Psychotherapist, CMHC

Hi, I’m Edurne!

Currently, I offer my services by teletherapy. In the United States, I am Licensed as a Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia (expanding soon to other states), and I also have a degree as a Psychologist (in Uruguay), and an MBA. I am a Mental Health Counselor, a Psychotherapist, and I am involved in the study and practice of Psychoanalysis.

I work with all people and all relationships, providing brief and long-term therapy for adult individuals, couples, and all other relationship configurations. More details about my work are also here https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/edurne-paula-chopeitia-atlanta-ga/305136

My name is in Basque, an ancient language unrelated to any others, so I expect that for most people that contact me it will be unfamiliar (and sometimes a bit uncomfortable). In my experience, clients and colleagues wonder about the pronunciation. Some want to call me by my middle name, Paula, which is OK, although I am more familiar with Edurne Chopeitia.

In short, this is my way to tell you that if you are interested in a consultation to know about treatment options, you can “unworry” about that part!

Before I moved to the United States, about 2 decades ago, I gained experience in Clinical Psychology, Psychoanalytic Theory and practice, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Psychological Evaluations, Executive Coaching and placement, and Marketing Consulting services.

From the first contact (470-257-1947) we can speak in English, Spanish, or a mix of both if that is your preference. If after a few meetings it makes sense to start a therapy journey together, we will learn a new way of communicating, rooted in the theory but mostly in the practice of psychoanalysis, which is more of a “way of thinking” about your concerns, your actions, your worries… or “a way of understanding what your mind does” which will lead us to new options and changes.

I’m A Translator

I am a certified translator. I find translating to be a meditative art form, along with my other passion in photography.
